Exhibition “My Soul’s Native Land” in Krapivna

__03August 15 - September 21, 2015
Krapivna Local History Museum

The Krapivna Museum welcomes everybody to an exhibition of Nikolai Zakharov’s paintings, “My Soul’s Native Land.” The opening of the exhibition will take place on August 15, 2015 at 13:30.

The exhibition displays landscapes of Krapivna, the artist’s birthplace. His love for the place he has known from his childhood shows in his every painting, and in the title of the exhibition itself. Zakharov depicts Krapivna as a place full of joy and light, sometimes mysterious and changeable, but always dear and recognizable. In spite of the fact that the artist’s style is characterized by a certain generality deprived of unnecessary details, his works have a precise compositional and colour structure, sincerity, and emotional freedom.

The artist will be present at the opening, as well as former students of the Krapivna school who were inspired by Zakharov’s works; they will remember their school years and cherished places from their youth, and enliven memories of Krapivna as it was many years ago.

Nikolai Zakharov’s exhibition is organized with the support of the deputy of the Tula Regional Duma Egor Atanov.

The exhibition will last until September 21, 2015.

It can be visited every day from 9:00 to 17:00. The cost of a guided tour is 30 rubles for discount tickets, 50 rubles for a full-price ticket.
