Exhibition of Children’s Drawings “For Our Great-grandfathers”

Untitled-1May 4-15, 2015
Yasnaya Polyana Estate, Volkonsky House

On May 3 at 15:00, the exhibition “For Our Great-grandfathers” will open at the Exhibition Hall of the Volkonsky House and the results of the contest “Tolstoy Through Children’s Eyes” will be summed up.

Young artists (from 5 to 17 years old) created graphic and painted works dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Children from Tula and Tula Region took part in the contest. More than 30 works are displayed at the exhibition. They are all wonderful and very touching drawings, in which the children recall—based on books, films, and their grandfathers’ and grandmothers’ stories--events of World War II.

The Yasnaya Polyana Estate-Museum heartily thanks the children, and their parents and teachers, who accepted the invitation to participate in the contest, especially the fine arts studio of the Tula Section of the Artists’ Union of Russia, and personally the chairperson of the Union Evgeny Zhidkov and the head of the studio Valentina Kurkova.
