VWaL-spaV7kAmong Anna’s works are nature and city landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. The works are rich with the artist’s thoughts, feelings, and emotions, and although the compositions are rather straightforward, they have philosophical content and are thought-provoking.

Anna Klepalova was born in 1985 in Nizhniy Tagil, Sverdlovsk Oblast. She studied art from the age of nine and graduated from the Ural School of Applied Art in Nizhniy Tagil, then at the Higher School of Folk Arts in St. Petersburg. From 2007 to 2008, she worked for a St. Petersburg company engaged in artwork by special order.

In 2008-2010 she worked at the Belgorod State Art Museum. Since 2010 she has lived in Tula and presently is the director and leading instructor of the art studio of the music school “Virtuosi” in Tula.

Anna has exhibited at various group exhibitions including in Belgorod, and has had personal exhibitions as a teenager and in 2012 at the Belgorod State Art Museum. During her studies the artist was interested in painting on wood, glass, and textiles. She presently works with oil painting. For the last two years, she has also worked in aerography, a technique of applying drawing on surfaces, which is used on automobiles, textiles, souvenirs, dishes, wall decoration, body-art, and decorative canvases.

C0S_kwRMCc0Anna Klepalova’s art is distinguished by the pastose technique in combination with glaze and the use of a “dry brush” (use of oil paints and spreading them on the canvas with the brush) and by her decorative paintings. Her style is recognizable for its manner of applying the paints in thick, saturated color, broad brushstrokes, and free motion of the brush and palette knife. Anna’s works seek to convey colorfully mood, emotion, and a feeling for nature.
