This Saturday, May 19, 2018, our guests are welcome to attend various events. At 12:00, the GREEN AS GRASS festival of youth folklore groups will begin at the Yasnaya Polyana Estate (area behind the Coachman‘s House). In addition to the muscial program, we‘ll offer the visitors the chance to attend thematic guided tours and workshops, to have a carriage- or horseback ride, to take photos in folk costumes, and to buy Yasnaya Polyana souvenirs. At 15:00, as part of our Unsystematic Literature Course for Everybody, there will be a lecture by the researcher of Russian literature Irina Surat, Two Journeys: Mandelshtam and Pushkin, at the Yasnaya Polyana Cultural Center. In the evening, you are welcome to the Museum Night. On the verandah of the Tosltoy House at Yasnaya Polyana, students of the Russian Institute of Theater Arts will recite extracts from the novel War and Peace. In the Yasnaya Polyana Gallery in Tula, you can attend the Russian Primitivists exhibition, a lecture about the Tula city toy, and workshops on making ceramic items.
