The role of Blanche DuBois is played by the star of “The X-Files” Gillian Anderson.

Already not young, but not yet having lost her charm and beauty, Blanche DuBois comes to stay with her pregnant sister Stella, who lives with her husband in a poor neighborhood of New Orleans. Blanche is ruined, she has no money and nowhere to live. Stanley Kowalski, Stella’s husband, embodies rudeness and naturalness in the most unpleasant meaning of this word. He treats Blanche with contempt and later, having learned the secrets of her past, becomes the main cause of the impossibility of her becoming happy. Where has the streetcar named “Desire” brought the beauty and what awaits her here?
